This small, family-run hotel is in the Costa Brava resort of Roses, next to the historic site of Ciutadella and a 5-minute walk from the beach.

Hotel Casa Del Mar is in Roses
South of the Albera Range, Roses Bay forms a deep inlet in the coastline some 15 km long, with long sandy beaches and marshland. It is bounded by the Cap de Creus peninsula to the north and the Montgrí massif to the south.
Rhode and Emporion, located at either end of the bay, were the gateways through which Greek culture entered the country. Both have developed into major tourist resorts: Roses in the north and L’Escala to the south.
Roses is the charming fishing village of Alt Empordà that welcomes visitors to the doors of the Cap de Creus Natural Park (Parc Natural del Cap de Creus).
The origins of Roses date back the VIII century BC, with the arrival and establishment of the Rhodian, originating from the Greek island of Rhodes. Its name comes from this origins. Trade and the Roman occupation of this place have made a melting pot that explains the mood of a very modern, open, active and generous population.
Roses touristic points of interest are many and very different among them. Faced with the great natural landscapes that offer their creeks: Cala Montjoi, Cala Canyelles, Cala Jóncols, Cala Murtra, Cala Lledó, Cala Rustella, etc. you can also find cultural highlights of great interest as the route of the dolmens (dolmen Creu d'en Cobertella, Llit de la Generala, Cap de l'Home, Casa Cremada), also the Museum of Ciutadella (Citadel), the Castle of Santa Trinitat, Roses the Lighthouse and many other. Roses also has the largest fishing port in northern Costa Brava.
The cultural and musical offer of Roses is extensive and includes lectures, rock and blues festivals, exhibitions, concerts of various types of music and more. In summer the village hosts one of the major music festivals in the Costa Brava: Sons of Món (Sound of the World).
he best time to stroll by the harbour, one of the busiest on the Costa Brava, is in the evening, when the fishing boats sail in with their escort of gulls.
The terraces are an invitation to sit and chat, while the fortified precinct of the Ciutadella, built in the 16th century by Charles V to protect the region from pirates, merits a leisurely visit. Inside this vast fortress are the remains of the Greek colony of Rhode, founded in the 4th century BC, and the Benedictine Monastery of Santa Maria. All kinds of water sports can be practised at Roses, off the town’s own beaches of fine sand and in the coves of L’Almadrava, Montjoi and Jòncols.
If you are interested in nature walks and tours Roses offers well marked and accessible ones, through an exceptional nature resulting from the combination of sea and mountains.
The coast of Roses is full of contrasts. You'll find many cliffs overlooking the sea, but also quiet creeks with clear and shallow waters, soft sand, providing ideal conditions for practicing water sports like kayaking, fishing, sailing, windsurfing, paragliding, etc. For all these reasons, the family fun in this village at the foot of Cape Creus is guaranteed.
The name of Roses has been linked in recent years to the figure of the excellent chef Ferran Adrià, worldwide well-known for its innovative cuisine. Its famous restaurant, El Bulli, located in the idyllic Cala Montjoi, has become the El Bulli Foundation, a center of culinary research.

Would recommend Hotel Casa del Mar for a weekend or 4 nights stay if you are willing to spend money on lunches and dinners everyday. Breakfast was not the greatest but was OK. Would stay here again if passing through Roses! Having to leave early due to the weather and not being able to enjoy the beach! |

The hotel does not look cery special, but it is a real gem! By car it is easily found from South and has convenient parking. Not being front-line the views are a road or garden allotments, but it is a short stroll through to the beach and delightful promenade with restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. The room was spacious and the bathroom had been particularly well renovated. Breakfast (included) is very good and the staff are gelpful and multi-lingual. As advertised the WiFi is only reliable near Reception. If this matters ask for a room that is too! The free online PC needs a clean-up! The hotel is "dog-friendly" and thus popular with French owners!! |

Suite familiale très spacieuse : Deux pièces, coin cuisine, salle de bains et deux terrasses privatives. Parking privé, extérieurs aménagés avec mobilier de jardin et table de ping-pong. No hay que olvidar que es un hotel de una estrella. No puedes pedir un cava a medianoche, porque no saben si hay, y si hay, no saben el precio. Manchas de humedad en la pared, nevera en la galería algo oxidada y con hormigas. Sin olvidar que nos tocó una habitación junto a un huerto con gallos incluídos y a partir de las 3 de la madrugada empezaron a despertarnos.La relación calidad-precio es correcta, teniendo en cuenta que estás en la costa Brava y que los hoteles son muy caros.Aún así, quizás para una noche o dos volveríamos a ir. |

Liikenteen ääniä ei tosiaankaan kuulunut, mutta äänekkäät kukot hieman häiritsivät, kun nukuimme parvekkeen ovi auki. Tälle puolelle ei myöskään aurinko paistanut koko päivää, joten huone pysyi mukavan viileänä. Henkilökunta oli erittäin ystävällistä ja auttavaista. Aamiainen oikein hyvä ja sitä oli ihana syödä ulkoterassilla.Lyhyt matka rannalle. Ilmastointia ei ollut (tosin ei häirinnyt kovin paljoa, koska oli tuuletin ja huone varjoisemmalle puolelle). Sängyt olivat aika huonot (liian pehmeät). Rosesin keskustaan on noin 10-15 min kävelymatka. Lähistöllä ei ole ainuttakaan ruokakauppaa, lähimpään on runsaan kilometrin matka. |

l'accueil tres agréable, c'est la deuxième fois que nous y allons le petit déjeuner copieux,hotel prés de la mer, tout en étant prés de la ville place de parking; accés a l'hotel très facile. seul bémol l'insonorisation surtout quand au dessus des gens qui ne respecte rien, mais c'est le défaut des hôtels Espagnol Mal insonorise, entend le ronflement du voisin et la route proche de l' hotel. |

El personal muy amable y agradable. El desayuno es muy completo e incluye de todo, cafe, pastas, embutido, zumos, pan, croisants, infusiones, fruta. El establecimiento dispone de parking y está cerca de la playa y en un sitio tranquilo, que es lo que nosotros bucábamos. Me ha gustado todo, desde la ubicación tan buena, cruzas y ya estas en la playa, hasta el trato personal, son todos muy cercanos, hacen que tu estancia sea de lo más acogedora.El desayuno perfecto, nada que envidiarles a los bufé de 3 y 4 estrellas que a veces el café con leche es imbebible.Aqui un café excelente,y una pequeña bollería riquísima.Descanse esa noche como nunca cuando me quedo sola fuera de casa,sitio tranquilo.La habitación acogedora y el baño totalmente reformado.Relacion calidad precio un 10. Nada, ha superado mis expectativas.Repetire seguro y acompañada para disfrutar de unos días de playa. |
