St. Daniel Valley is located a few hundred meters east of the center of Girona and is an area famous for its forests, forest walking paths that run through it and the many attractions it provides to walkers. Its historic center is the Romanesque Monastery of Sant Daniel (eleventh century) and around its 768 ha of natural area you will find the Galligants river (born in the valley), water sources (the source d'en Fita, Font del Bisbe, Font dels Lleons and Font del Ferro) and a number of historical and traditional Catalan houses as Mas Miralles, Mas Lliure, Mas Poater, Mas Noguer, Mas Pi, Mas Preses, Mas Miralles, Torre d'en Rosés and Can Llinàs, most original between thirteenth and fifteenth centuries.

    The archaeological site of Castellum Fractum is a few kilometers north of Girona, on the little mountain of Sant Julia, 190 meters high. At his feet runs the river Ter an the ancient Roman Via Augusta route, now N-II.     The Shrine of the Angels is located at 484 meters above sea level, on one of the highest mountains in the mountain ranges formed by the Gavarres.
