Begur è un spettacolare villaggio nel cuore della Costa Brava, che si trova nel massiccio dello stesso nome. Dominato dal castello dell'XI secolo, le sue spiagge sono le più famose tra la Costa Brava, come Aiguablava, Sa Tuna, Sa Riera, Aiguafreda, Platja Fonda o Fornells. Nel centro della città ci sono tracce di architettura indiana, dal XIX secolo.
Ancorato nel cuore della comarca Empordà, protetto dalle montagne del massiccio dal quale prende il nome, il villaggio di Begur è uno dei più affascinati e appartate della Costa Brava.
Il centro medievale di Begur ha un interesse originario dalla sua storia antica. Situato tra le montagne di Begur, queste montagne che lo circondano sono chiavi per capire il loro origine. Nell'era della pirateria i nuclei abitati non dovevano essere posizionati proprio sulla costa, ma nell'interiore. Infatti, Begur, situato a 192 metri sul livello del mare a questa condizione perfettamente soddisfatta e cosi si e sviluppato nel corso dei secoli, con le sue torri difensive per proteggerlo contro i pirati.
Il profilo imponente del suo castello medievale che domina il paesaggio, le diverse case americane in stile coloniale costruite dagli emigranti ritornati dell'America nel secolo XIX, dopo aver fatto fortuna, l'impianto medievale delle sue stradine, le case dei pescatori che sono ancora visibili in alcuni delle calette che la circondano, formano l'identità di un popolo che ha vissuto quasi sempre di fronte al mare ed è ora un centro importante per il turismo della la Costa Brava.
Il centro storico di Begur è pieno di monumenti che sono stato ereditati da un passato che rimane ancora nelle sue pietre, come la chiesa di Sant Pere, la Casa Pella i Forgas, il Mas Pinc, la casa dove visse e morì la grande cantante di flamenco Carmen Amaya ... il castello, distrutto diverse volte nel corso della sua storia.
Senza dubbio il più caratteristico paesaggio naturale di Begur è costituito dalla serie di piccole calette e spiagge, delle più belle tra tutta la Costa Brava grazie alla sua privilegiata situazione tra le scogliere e le acque cristalline: Sa Riera, Sa Tuna, Aiguablava, Fornells, Platja Fonda, Aiguaxelida, Illa Roja.

En los parkings había unas barras de hierro de separación que acababan con una bola. Fuimos testigos de cómo se enganchaba un parachoques y se rompía porque no se podían ver desde el coche. |

Food in restaurant is poor and very over priced as are bar drinks which means people drink in their rooms with alcohol bought from the supermarket and so the public lounges are deserted in the evening. Some of the older English guests are too loud and insular. We had problems with guests in adjacent rooms partying on the balcony until 2 am. The area has mosquitos and we were repeatedly bitten overnight. |

A beautiful location overlooking the bay with easy access to the beaches. Close to Begur, Pals and Tamariu as well, great places to visit and eat out. Staff were excellent and pool area is beautiful, as is the breakfast terrace/restaurant. Scuba diving is available nearby too, which was well organised with good attention to safety. It is a lovely serene environment. We'll be back. The price! However, like most things in life, you get what you pay for. |

We asked in the reception for help to rent bikes, but no information was available except a hint to a shop in Plrafrugrell next to a gym in a named street. No help was given to find the telephone number even though we asked.But we found ourselves a super bike rental shop in Palafrugrell, nice bikes and delivered to the hotell with excellent service - why did not the hotel provide this service ? The terrace door in our room did not lock properly. We felt like second degree customers since we did not order full pension. We had dinner once on the terrace. First we got the menu for full pension guests, then we got the ala-carte menu, but we could see the full menu if we wanted as a special service. The waitor - through his attitude to us - made it clear that we should feel lucky to get a table since we only were breakfast clients. The next day we wanted to eat by the pool, but we could not order a meal since we were not full pension guests. I do not understand why the hotel categorize the clients like this, we still wants to pay for the meals we are having in your resturants. In stead of having the meal by the pool we had to visit the restaurant on the terrace. There we waited for 5 minutes to be seated, 4 times waitors passed us without adressing us and our needs. So we walked away and had lunch another place. Your hotel lost 4 meals from our family due to this - not a big problem for us. But we felt very little welcom in the restaurant except for breakfast, and the ignorance we felt is the reason for the score given for your staff. |

We loved the location, the staff were very friendly. We would certainly return in the near future. The views were breathtaking. Breakfast was varied, and extremely fresh. The only downside, for me was that a few English people were rather stuffy around the pool! I liked everything, thank you. |

Absolutely fabulous spot with a beautiful view over the bay. Traditional old-fashioned comforts with plenty of lounge space and outdoor facilities. Be prepared fo a short meandering drive to the other villages but you will struggle to better the location. The room was very good with a great view of the cove. I have stayed in better 4 star rooms though. |
