    The Monastery of Sant Daniel is located in the valley of the same name, a beautiful natural environment near the center of Girona. For almost a thousand years hosts a community of Benedictine nuns, between 10 and 20, and a student residence. The original Romanesque monastery is from the eleventh century, and was founded by Ermessenda of Carcassonne, widow of Count Ramon Borrell. Normally it is not allowed to visit it, except for the days when the city celebrate "Temps de flors", those wonderful days when many historic buildings open their doors and are adorned with flowers.
