St John's Eve is celebrated throughout Catalonia during the eve of June 24 with special intensity in an atmosphere of firecrackers, fireworks, party, champagne and traditional cakes 'coques'. Also on the Costa Brava, and in Palamos especially because this festival coincides with the patronage festival, dedicated precisely to this patron: Sant Joan.
