Fisherman's Wife, Lloret de Mar

At the southern side of the beach of Lloret, on a promontory known as the Punta d'en Rosaris, which can be accessed through a beautiful sea coast walk, is located the most loved statue of Lloret de Mar village. It's the Fisherman's Wife (or Sailor's Wife), a tribute to all local women living with such uncertainty and distress the absence of their husbands in the dangerous sea, sometimes for months. The statue is made of bronze, has a height of 2.40 meters, and was created in 1966 by Ernest Maragall. The place has stone seats to watch the landscape as it is an excellent scenic viewpoint at 20 meters above sea level. A little further south, in the same coastal trail, you get to Cala Banys in 5 minutes.
