Medes Islands Lighthouse

Medes Island Lighthouse, in face of l'Estartit village coast, is 86.23 meters above sea level, and is located on the largest island of this archipelago that is a protected marine reserve, the Meda Gran, and has a range of 14 miles. It was inaugurated on June 1st 1868 by Queen Elizabeth II of Spain. Since 1932 it is automatic and since 1982 it has a solar power system for supply.
