Planamar is in Platja d'Aro
Platja d’Aro’s main drag, formed by Avinguda S’Agaró and Avinguda Cavall Bernat, offers some of the region’s best shopping, with big-name designer clothes stores and some classy local establishments. Most are open all year and have extended summer hours (daily 10am–2pm & 5–10pm).
As evening suffuses into night, the pavement cafés become a popular spot for an aperitif and some prime people-watching. Later into the night a hedonistic crowd moves in, as the stylish, laid-back bars and thumping discos get going.
Every February, the same streets play host to one of the Costa Brava’s best Carnival processions, with floats and extravagant fancy-dress parades accompanied by revelry all weekend long.
On the northern edge of town is Ciutat de Palol, a small square that was the site of a wine- and oil-producing Roman villa, in use between the first century BC and the seventh century AD. Badly neglected during the tourism boom, it has now been properly excavated and saved, and what little remains has been laid out as a public area with seating.
Almost the entire length of Platja d’Aro’s beach is backed by an uneven toothy grin of high-rise blocks, interspersed with some older low-rise buildings, fronted by a pedestrianized promenade with terraces and restaurants.The sweep of coarse golden sand, shelving moderately steeply into clear water, sees families and firm-bodied clubbers working on their tans.The southern tip of Platja Gran, marked by the chic Port Nàutic and capped by the Punta de Pinell headland, gets slightly less crowded.
At the northern end of the Platja Gran, three incongruous-looking nineteenth-century villas are a reminder of how the town has changed, while 100m further on is the huge standing stone known as El Cavall Bernat, the backdrop to free summer jazz concerts. Its name came into use in the sixteenth century as a euphemism for the original Carall Bernat, thought to mean “revered phallus” (“carall” is Catalan for “phallus”).
North of Platja d’Aro, the Camí de Ronda footpath dips and climbs for 4km, from the north- ern end of the Platja Gran along the water’s edge as far as Sant Antoni de Calonge, offering paths down to some beautiful beaches.A number can also be reached by footpaths off the C253 road towards Palamós, which has roadside parking.
The first you come to is the attractive, busy Cala Rovira, originally the Roman port for the area. It’s also known as Cala dels Escalencs after the fishing families from L’Escala, who – until the advent of tourism in the 1950s – used to spend their summers here camped on the beach, fishing the waters and selling their catch in Sant Feliu de Guíxols.A terrifically colourful and emotive fiesta to mark this history takes place on the first weekend after the Diada holiday (Sept 11), when dozens of traditional Vela Llatina boats make the journey from L’Escala and families camp on the beach in makeshift shelters for two days of traditional crafts, havaneres and cremat.
Neighbouring Cala Sa Cova offers a gently shelving beach and safe bathing up to a clearly defined line of underwater rocks, and its pretty setting amid pines helps you to overlook the number of people. Smaller and more inviting is Cala del Pi, 200m further north along the Camí de Ronda; its underwater rocks and craggy point make it perfect for snorkelling.A long tunnel separates this from Ses Rodones de Terra, where stone steps lead down through clumps of bamboo to a rugged mosaic of boulders and beach, a favourite with nude bathers.
Further along the footpath, Cala Belladona is less busy than its neighbours, and you’ll find good snorkelling and swimming a long way out into the steeply shelving sea. Finally, Platja de Can Cristus, most easily reached from the road, has a good sandy beach, but can get crowded owing to the presence of two large campsites nearby.

Bruyant la nuit, on à mal dormir, les chambre pas bien isolé, à mangé pas assez varié, parking fermé trop cher, pas pratique (fermé, ouvrir avec la clé et toujours demandé a la réception). Nous sommes partir 2 jours plutôt, on été plus fatigué, et on à payé a l'avance, -même le parking fermé-, on été pas rembourser. L'endroit magnifique,je vais recommandé, mais pas'Hôtel il mérite pas 4 étoile! Dommage! |

The location of this hotel was just what we wanted, right on the beach and only a few block in from the main high street. Our room was small but nice (rm 108). All the staff was friendly and professional, the wifi was a bonus too. The breakfast select good and always plenty of it plus a nice coffee. We ate in the outside restaurant once throughout our stay, we only had lunch but we have had drinks and cocktails each evening which has been very enjoyable. We would have loved a small refrigerator in the room to keep out water cool but the supermarket was just around the corner. And also an extra mirror in the room, either on the dressing table or on the wall (room108). We would have like to hire beach towels too. |

Situated just across the promenade (no vehicles) from the beach the hotel could not be better positioned. It has a nice roof top terrace if you do not like the beach and the staff are friendly and helpful. As a lot of Spaniards stop at this hotel the buffet breakfast is very good with a wide variety of cold meats, cheese, bread, preserves, yoghurt, fruit etc with a couple of hot options like bacon or scrambled eggs. Fuimos tres amigas. En general el hotel es correcto teniendo en cuenta que es un dos estrellas. Está muy bien situado tanto para ir de compras por el centro como para ir a tomar algo de noche. El trato del personal fue excelente en todo momento. Y en cuanto a sus instalaciones son pequeñas pero bien aprovechadas. Lo que menos nos gustó fue la comida aunque por calidad precio no estaba mal. |

Hemos pasado unos días de vacaciones en el Planamar y tengo que decir que hemos vuelto encantados. La situación del hotel es inmejorable, la comida bastante aceptable. El comedor tiene unas cristaleras que dan al paseo marítimo y desayunas con unas vistas maravillosas al mar. La habitación a muy alegre y luminosa. Nos tocó un lateral que daba a un patio y no teníamos muy buena vista pero al frente teníamos la montaña y si nos asomábamos veíamos el mar y como tampoco pasábamos mucho tiempo en la habitación no necesitábamos nada más. El trato del personal muy bueno. Desde luego para mí la relación calidad-precio está muy bien y muchos tres o cuatro estrellas querrían tener la categoría del Planamar. Si volvemos a Playa de Haro sin duda volveremos al Planamar. Si tengo que poner una nota negativa la pondría al cuarto de baño, que era de los que todavía estaba sin reformar y era un poco anticuado. |

Отель на пляже. Красивые номера. Неплохое питание. Наряду с заказными горячими блюдами на обед или ужин на шведском столе всегда есть и горячие закуски, одними которыми можно наесться, если заказное блюдо не понравилось. Очень в тему бассейн с террасой на крыше. Замечательный пляж вообще в Плайя де Аро. При бронировании номера на 3 человек, нас вначале поселили в номер для 2 человек, абсолютно меньший по размеру. На завтраке отсутствуют хоть какие-нибудь свежие фрукты, только салат из консервированных. Есть номера, выходящие на сторону кухни и там шумно на лоджии или с открытыми окнами вечером (когда ужин) и утром (когда завтрак). |

Très bonne situation, bon rapport qualité/prix. Nourriture petit dej, buffet bien, dîner choix entre plusieurs plats et souplesse si on désire par exemple un steak frites parking hôtel payant, et difficultés de trouver une place pour la voiture. |

Fantastiskt med pool och solmöjligheter på taket och de underbara "solsängarna" där kan man ligga och mysa när det är lite blåsigt/regnigt. Fantastiskt läge på strandpromenaden. Att hotellgäster "bokade" både vanliga solsängar och de större solsängarna (ibland båda samtidigt) på taket hela dagarna fast de inte alltid var där på flera timmar. |

1. В ресторане при отеле можно поужинать и пообедать, также сытно и плотно, как и позавтракать; 2. Завтрак настолько плотный, что можно не обедать; 3.С большей части балконов в номерах чудный вид но море, на балконе установлены стол и два кресла; 4. Приблизительно с начала июня вода в бассейне подогревается до приятной температуры; 5. Бассейн на крыше и множество шезлонгов для отдыха под открытым небом с видом но море; 6. По береговой линии отеля справа будет располагаться чудный большой ресторанчик с разнообразным меню, хозяева обслуживают сами, очень гостеприимно и вкусно, жена хозяина русская, поэтому нет языкового барьера 1. Бассейн начали прогревать только в начале июня, в мае вода была ледяная; 2. В отеле всегда множество пожилых европейцев, которые имеют привычку очень громко говорить по пути на завтрак, завтракают они очень рано, в номере слышно все что происходит в коридоре. Поэтому если у Вас чуткий сон и Вы любите поспать подольше, Вам будет не сильно комфортно |
