Can Carreras is an 18th-century house located within the natural setting of Alt Empordà and Alt Garrotxa. The house is set in a protected natural area and features spectacular mountain views.
Featuring stone walls, exposed beams and rustic furniture, Can Carreras has a TV lounge with fireplace, as well as a dining room where guests can have breakfast or dinner upon request. Board games can be provided.
There is also a large shared kitchen with barbecue and TV. On the outside there is a garden with a small children’s playground. Guests can practice fishing, hiking and 4x4 driving in the surroundings, and bikes are available for hire.
All rooms have heating, a wardrobe and views of the mountains and the garden. Some rooms have a private bathroom.
Can Carreras is located in Sant Llorenç de la Muga, 5 minutes’ drive from the town centre. The centre of Figueres is 22 km away. There is free Wi-Fi and free private parking.

From the website it seemed that we would be able to get an evening meal, but this proved not to be the case. There were no options for eating within 5k (we had no car and had been walking through the mountains for about 10 hours). The owner speaks only Castillian and Catalan and communication would be very difficult if you could not speak these languages. Payment cash only. The bedroom was a little cramped. I didn't feel like I could ask for a coffee or anything having missed breakfast! But this might be my issue. Maybe it would have been fine if I had asked. A little pot brewing in a shared space might have been good though. |
